About the Instrument
This violin has a warm and resonant lower register that gives it a soulful and refined quality. Its apricot varnish is thoughtfully antiqued in some portions to its gold ground. Its brilliant flames flare on its two-piece back ribs, and up the neck and scroll. the latter of which has some black purfling.

About the Maker
Pablo Farias is a contemporary luthier who was born in Santiago del Estero, Argentina. Farias title of earned the title Maestro Tecnico Luthier from the violinmaking school of the “Universidad Nacional del Tucumán” founded by Alfredo Del Lungo of Florence. After working in Tucumán and Cordoba, Farias moved to Italy and attended the Instituto di Istruzione Superiore Antonio Stradivari in Cremona (aka the International Violinmaking School). While at there, Farias studied under the master luthier Alessandro Voltini. As a student, Farias received the Grandi – Taglietti Prize for best student Operatore di Liuteria / Violin Maker.
After graduating, Farias enrolled to specialized in the maintenance of stringed instruments and bows at Centro Formazione Professionale in Cremona. In 2008, he under the guidance of Mathijs Heyligers, Pierre Bohr, Antonino Airenti, and Emilio Slaviero while completing coursework at the Fondazione Istituto Tecnico Superior in Tecnico Superiore di Liuteria Barocca / Advanced Technician of Baroque Violin Making. The next year, Farias won the second prize with a violin during the III Concorso Nazionale di Liuteria / Third International Violin Making Competition in the City of Pisogne. He lives and works in Cremona.
