About the Maker
Jacek Zadlo is a contemporary Polish-born luthier who works in Chicago. A pianist as a child, Zadlo initially trained in instrument making at a Państwowe Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych, a fine arts vocational school in Southern Poland, before attending at the Akademia Muzynczna in Poznań. In 1992, Zadlo moved to the United States. Four years later, he joined the William Harris Lee and Company atelier in Chicago, where he has worked closely with Bronek Cison and Tetsuo Matsuda ever since. Zadlo has been named a finalist for Tone by the American Viola Society.
